Hizen Kuni Dewa No Kami Fujiwara Yukihiro 肥前國出羽守藤原行廣 in Shirasaya 白鞘

Long Katana blade measures:
Cutting edged: 72,2 cm
Nagasa: 70,8 cm.
Moto-haba: 3,0 cm.
Saki-haba: 2,1 cm.
Moto-gasane: 0,7 cm.
Saki-gasane: 0,45 cm.
Sori: 1,8 cm.

Age: Shōhō 正保 / Kanbun 寛文 era Edo 江戸時代 period (1644-1673)

General condition:

Blade:

The polish is old, acceptably preserved, allowing to be seen in its original shape condition without masking. A professional deep cleaning has been carried out very recently in Japan (cleaning not a polishing) It can be described as good shape and cutting edges with polishing from years ago, it has recently been subjected to a professional only cleaning by a Togishi master to remove the most of usual signs of use and dirt.The blade is now totally free of active rust only the shadows and very light signs of having had it located in two areas next to the Habaki and smaller and very narrow ones in another area of the edge remain.
Apart from some very little points and micro lines of the original folded. Something without fatal importance and into the typical of antique blades.
Complete solid condition across all parts and remain also the traditional cutting razor edge

Shirasaya (白鞘) white sheath:

Has been recently made at the same time as the cleaning of the blade by a Japanese master craftsman therefore its condition is impeccable.

Habaki ( 鎺):

Also recently restored with a solid silver foil like the original

Yoshinobu is the 3rd son of Nakajima Shingobei 中島新五兵衛. His initial name was Sadenjirō 佐伝次郎, then changed to Yashichibei 弥七兵衛. When he married the eldest daughter of Shodai Tadayoshi he became the head of Tadayoshi school.
In Keicho 19 (1614) the first son of Shodai Tadayoshi was born (by a mistress) and became the new head of the school (later known as Omi Daijō Tadahiro 近江大掾忠廣 ). Yoshinobu then set up a new family branch of the Hizen school. Yoshinobu's first son was Masahiro 正廣 and the second son was Yukihiro 行廣.
Both branches had been loved most tenderly by the Nabeshima clan for generations and prospered until early Meiji, 1860's.

Sealed of Prefectural (Kyoiku-inkai) Registration Card In order to legally own a original sword in Japan it has to be registered in accordance with the Ju-to-ho 銃刀法 it is the original card including inscription in equivalent characters of the Katana Nakago Mei (signature) in order at inequivocal blade identification.

Daimyo Registered: This sword was registered in current sword registration system started in Japan in modern era. Such swords, which were registered in a few years after the system started, are known among collectors as "Daimyo" (feudal lord) registration swords as it was Daimyo or other Daimyo-like wealthy families who owned many precious swords and were asked by the Japanese government to register their swords in the early stage of the newly introduced registration system to familiarize it to the society but it is not the official name of course what is Kyoiku-inkai (Prefectural Registration Card)
